The 2 Billion Rupiah Dream

High school is about to end and I can't be any happier. Well, hopefully, I will be graduating from high school next year which is in 2014. Everyone, like literally everyone, asks me where do I want to continue my study a.k.a "Where do you wanna go for college?"

And that's when the 2 billion rupiah question comes and that's when the roller coaster of feelings come.

I have a very deep interest in English especially Creative Writing. I'm not trying to brag about anything but I do think that I deserve to be confident in at least one thing and that is I'm pretty confident in my writing skills.

When people ask me what do I want to study, it's simple. I want to study English Literature. However, I have a very personal interest in Creative Writing. No universities in Indonesia provide a specific course or major on Creative Writing and I know this one amazing university who has that.

University of Birmingham

I use all bold, italic, and underline in purpose to emphasise my feelings for this university. I mean I can't I need a moment.

Okay I'm back. To be honest, my way in finding out about this university is through Gita Gutawa. Yes, her. The daughter of Erwin Gutawa who both happen to be great musicians of Indonesia. They're two of our nation's prides.

I find out that University of Birmingham provides English with Creative Writing a.k.a MY DREAM COURSE! I have searched all of the informations I can get especially the budget and just like the title of this post, it costs roughly 2 billion rupiah. Roughly.

Well yeah let's be honest I don't have that much of money. My mother totally supports my dream in aiming high and all but she doesn't have that much of money as well. And this is the part where the roller coaster of feelings happen. Heart broken and desperate.

Maybe all of you who happen to pass by this blog and read this post may say, "Get a scholarship!" Let me tell you something. It is not that easy since in order to enrol here, Indonesian students must take a foundation year since the education system in UK and Indonesia aren't balance. Just like a chemistry equation. Well, most of them if you haven't balance them.

And talking about the foundation year, they don't provide scholarships. They provide bursaries which means fee reduction, however not scholarships. This saddens me a lot since I feel like I don't have any hope in order to achieve this dream.

Studying the course that's not available in Indonesia is not the only reason why I wanna study here. I love UK and being able to live there means I can get new opportunities and experiences that I might not be able to get in my country. Whatever the opportunities or experiences are, they're still something new.

But still. The 2 billion rupiah thing.

I wish one day God decides to let money fall from the sky, like rain but not in the form of water but money, then I can take as much as I need to get there. I feel like in the end of the day, the wealthy people are the ones who can get the best education while the not-so-wealthy ones are, well.

I'm so sorry if I seem judgmental, ungrateful, and pessimistic but I just feel like getting this off my chest. I have a Physics Test Formative and a Chemistry retest tomorrow but I decide to write this particular post first. I just need to get it off somehow.

To be honest, I envy all the kids who are lucky enough to be able to afford education this expensive. I know envy is one of the seven deadly sins but I'm just an ordinary human.

Places In Movies I'd Die For Part 2

It's 2.51 in the morning when I start writing this and now I finally get some time to write the part 2 so here it goes! This may be a marvellously long post so prepare for some magic and by magic I do mean nothing.

Hello Stranger is a Thai movie played by Chantavit Dhanasevi and Neungthida Sophon. Believe me, I don't know and can't write their names properly without the power of wikipedia. Even previously I get mixed up between the names of the actor, Chantavit and the director and producer of the movie, Banjong Pisanthanakun.

This movie started with a few scenes in Bangkok, Thailand which later move to Seoul, South Korea. Now I'm going to be a big liar if I say Korea doesn't affect my country because they do. A lot. In fact just a few hours ago, SNSD or known as Girls Generation just had a show in my country, specifically in Ancol. Some of my friends attended the concert though.

What I love about this movie is that, of course the plot, and the setting! I'm not the biggest fan of k-pop or whatever but I do love South Korea! They have amazing places and it's so cool to believe that they are now a developed country! It feels like just a few years ago they were like Singapore but look where they are now!

I love how Hello Stranger take the most famous places in Seoul like Namsan Tower (The Locks of Love), Nami Island (the setting for one of South Korea's famous TV show called Winter Sonata), Han River (if I'm not mistaken), Seoul's city centre, the shopping places, and more! I'd do a lot of things for this! The movie itself is really good that my hopeless romantic brother loves it and I myself recommend you to watch it.

I made this myself aren't they great lol

Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging is a British movie and if I say I don't like British or England or UK then I'm lying because I LOVE UK SO BLOODY MUCH!

I'm dying to go to England and living in London, Manchester, or Birmingham is like one of the biggest dreams that I have and hopefully I can make this one comes true. Amen! Can I get an amen? Please?

The movie was taken in 2008 and it took places in Brighton and Eastbourne, according to wikipedia, and I JUST WANT TO CRY HARD BECAUSE I LOVE ENGLAND SO MUCH AND I WANT TO GO THERE! Even though Brighton and Eastbourne were not on top of my travelling list, I still am dying to go there!

I mean look at this! Brighton!

And Eastbourne!

But Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging is actually a pretty good movie and even though it's sort of a teenage movie, it's not one of those annoying movies. It does have annoying mean girls characters of course however the ending doesn't seem realistic in real life because if it does then some guy like Robbie is such a nice person then.

Robbie a.k.a Aaron Johnson hehehehe so hot in this movie!
Sex and the City. No one can lie about this. Everybody loves New York City. Well maybe everyone but I know I do. Going to New York City is probably one of my million dreams since I was 6 when Sex and the City was still on HBO TV series. My mother loves the TV show and I often slept with my mom (well still do though) and at 10 P.M. she'd be watching this with me curling up to her side.

Seriously, I'm just gonna go short about this. NYC yes.

Oh gosh.

Habibie dan Ainun is an Indonesian movie about one of Indonesian's sweetest, loving husband, genius man, B.J. Habibie and his wife, Ainun Habibie. Some of the scenes take place in Indonesia and some of them take place in Germany since Habibie lives there. I've been learning German since 7th grade and I'd love to go there not just to practice my German but also BECAUSE I SIMPLY LOVE GERMANY.

A friend of mine, Irfan Salmons, is currently living in Hamburg, Germany since he got that AFS thing. I applied for AFS as well however I didn't pass the very first selection lol. Maybe it's because of the essay I wrote :D lol.

At the moment these places are all that I had in my mind even though I know I got tons of them! However I do have some honourable mentions.

Planet Asgard. Oh how I'm very much dying to go to another planet and meet Thor and Loki and their mommy and daddy.

One Directions' Tour Bus Bunks. I am literally not going to say anything about this one.

Hehehehehe.

Milo with Tiny Marshmallows!

I know this is ridiculous but starting from now on I am going to respect every single living photographers for taking marvellous pictures because I just tried to take a simple picture of Milo with tiny marshmallows using my laptop's camera and it is terrible. Like terrible.

The Milo with tiny marshmallows
Anyway, I'm currently having this! You all know Milo right? The chocolate milk thing? Yeah. Also I bought that tiny marshmallows like 4 days ago and I just got the chance to have this together. I have always wanted to have that beverage like in those movies (you know, hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows) and I finally create this into a reality!

The tiny marshmallows! They called it tiny marshmallows, apparently.

School Projects

I do not know what I got myself into. Well, actually I sort of do. Being a 12th grade student IS NOT EASY. I feel a lot of pressure from the upcoming examinations. I got a lot of going on. Let me write you all some of the list I have to do soon or soon enough:
  1. Final Paper (Chapter 1 - 3 must be done on November 4th and I'm like UGH)
  2. IGCSE Biology (Core), Physics (Extended), and Mathematics (Extended) around October and November this year.
  3. AS Level English on November.
  4. School's Test Formatives (can you spy the Chemistry book there) in which will be held for weeks idk the exact since all I know for sure at the moment is that Chemistry and Religion will be on Monday 14th September 2013 and Physics probably on Friday 20th September 2013 (hopefully on Friday) and Mathematics on the week after next week. Le sigh.
  5. (I feel like there's more but I can't even remember) (Perhaps Physics Formula book).

Also! Last but not the least...

READING PASSPORT!

Mother of Lord. This task has to be done in order to pass each grade and actually, the actual deadline for this project is supposed to be like on the end of semester however of course, the sooner the better. One of my base teachers, Mr. Zaenal Abidin, gave a target to my classmates which is 12U that we have to finish this tomorrow in which according to GMT +7 IT'S TODAY!

Usually we have to write like 10 books per school year a.k.a. 5 books per semester but the teachers are being super cute I think since for 12th grade students we only have to write 5 books. It's still a lot to me though :D -_-

Technically I only have around 5 hours to finish this and I still have around 1.9 more summaries to go out of 5 so wish me luck!

I know that I am supposed to be doing THAT instead of writing this but hey passion is passion :D

This Is Us

Last Friday night (no, I'm not trying to sing Katy Perry's song) I went to see This Is Us with a friend of mine, Puteri and her cousins and aunt AND I WAS SO HAPPY I COULDN'T CONTAIN MY HAPPINESS.

The British teenage sensation consisting Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson has just released their new concert documentary film about their journey from zero to hero, from nobody to the most wanted guys by majority of young girls (maybe some adults too, who knows).

LET ME JUST SAY HOW HUGE FAN I AM OF THEM! HUGE! Ahahahahaha. But seriously, I have been loving One Direction since I saw their music video, What Makes You Beautiful, on YouTube. They are just so addictive you can't resist them.

Once I knew that they were going to make documentary movie, I knew I had to watch them with my own eyes, in a theatre. The last time I went to the movie was The Dark Knight Rises so yeah it has been a pretty long time.

Anyway! This Is Us was amazing! Not just because I love the boy band themselves, but because I do think the movie was good! The visual effects that were used in the movie were marvellous especially on the effects during the members introduction and when each member were "transformed" into superheroes-ish.

They of course also include their songs and it made everything even better! I love almost all of their songs and I kept mouthing the whole lyrics when their songs were played and I tried my hardest not to sing out loud as if I'm in a concert even though most of the theatre's audience kept screaming and squealing, especially when Zayn Malik appeared out of nowhere.

I REALLY enjoyed seeing Harry Styles for 92 minutes I mean?????? He's such a perfection I think? I don't understand anything anymore.

The movie started with One Direction's introduction when they were kids and how they have been loving the music and singing ever since. I remembered Zayn said, "When other boys were interested in football, I was more interested in creativity." Well, something like that. Applause to Zayn!

And it's just funny to know that Niall was kicked out pretty often when he was younger during Geography for singing Irish traditional songs. I find it really adorable. I mean, no cute guys at my school does that so............ yeah.

This Is Us definitely shows the world, well at least me, that they are not just another pretty faces who made it because of their faces. But they really worked hard for everything they've achieved. I can see how exhausted they were when they have to go from one place to another, fighting jet lags, just to please their fans (and earn money of course).

Talking about money, I also find it really sweet that Zayn bought his mother a 5 million pound sterling house. I mean, 5 MILLION? POUND STERLING? Seriously dude, this is pound sterling. Not dollars, not Korean Won, not Indonesian Rupiah. I felt like crying when I saw the part where his mother cried and well basically when all of the mothers cried since they missed their sons awfully. I understand you, mothers even though I'm not a mother yet.

Overall I do think this is a good movie. Maybe (well definitely) not the best movies I've ever seen (believe me I watch a lot movies since my brother is a huge fan and a movie critic) but it was definitely worth to watch, especially to all the directioners out there. For non-fans, they might find it rather cheesy but I do hope they at least appreciate One Direction's hard work and for the things they have done for their mothers/fathers/siblings/family. As in for Taylor Swift, I do hope you enjoy the movie :D

I'd like to give the movie perhaps 8 out of 10.

Now One Direction can add Actors in their resumes. Am I right, boys?

This looks like a yes, don't you think?

What Actually Happened in Biology Class

This is what happened when one brings anything with a camera in it and when that one person asked a person to take a picture together and another invited another and in the end of the day everybody joined. In this case, that one, is me.

I regret nothing though :D

A Rocket to the Moon & All Time Low Live in Jakarta 2013

All Time Low is one of the reasons of my existence here. Like seriously I have been in love with them ever since my brother brought home his bandmate's So Wrong It's Right CD. The band of Baltimore, Maryland consisting Alex Gaskarth, Jack Barakat, Zack Merrick, and Rian Dawson is an example of perfection.

On 23rd of August 2013 they came for the second time to Jakarta, Indonesia (there, now you know my nationality). Their first concert here was on August 4th, 2013 and I attended that concert! They planned on coming back on 2011 and I actually won their meet & greet that year however they cancelled the show and unfortunately I lost my chance in meeting them in person :(

However this year I'm grateful that I got the second chance to see them again AND the chance to see A Rocket To The Moon's last performance before they went on their separate ways in music industry. How sad of this since I'm also a fan of ARTTM since I heard one of their singles from On Your Side album, Mr. Right.

I nearly didn't go to their show but after a lot of obstacles, ups and downs, and deliberations with my mother (plus her guilt) and I went there and watched those hot 8 guys with Maitri, Sisca, Nerissa, Denisa, Bella, and of course the one and only Jess! We watched them from the very back of the redzone HOWEVER the perks of watching from that side is that we got to watch near All Time Low's official crew members, Jeff and Evan! :D

This is a video I got off someone's youtube (sorry, I don't really know who you are but thanks a lot and tell me if you want me to credit this video!) and this is A Rocket to the Moon performing one of their songs from On Your Side album, On Your Side.

I love love love this song more than I love people in general. This song is perfection and every rhythm is just amazing. The reason why I put this video is because I want to share you all the A Rocket to the Moon vibe going on in Jakarta. This performance was amazing. Well their overall performance was amazing. Applause for Nick Santino, Eric Halvorsen, Justin Brighten, and Andrew Cook!

I also got this video off someone's youtube and do please tell me if you want me to credit this video to you. This is All Time Low performing one of their songs from Nothing Personal album, Lost in Stereo. They played this song for the opening of the show AND THEY WERE FANTASTIC I CAN'T EVEN! They used this song as well for their opening for the New York show and it made it to their DVD, Straight to DVD. It's just really nice to see THAT LIVE!

However I must say my favourite performance of All Time Low that night was Remembering Sunday and Therapy however I got some difficulties in finding the HD (at least the HQ) so I decided to go with this video since it's just as good.

To be honest I didn't regret going to this show at all and Rp450,000 was definitely worth it for me since this is music and I love every bit of it. And I must say this is the very first time I went to a music concert for the sake of the music themselves. That feeling is just really nice therefore not meeting the band themselves didn't feel bad because in the end of the day, it's all about the music right?

This is the picture of the ticket by the way hehehehe. The new layout and all is better than Java Musikindo's (the promotor) previous tickets' designs.

Oh and by the way, this is the collage Jess made during the show like literally. In case you're wondering, the guy existed in that picture is Jess's boyfriend. I forgot this name though since I didn't actually talk to him ahahahahaha.

BOTTOM LINE THE SHOW WAS AWESOME AND I WANT  TO REWIND BACK TIME.

Place In Movies I'd Die For Part 1

Throughout all my life I have seen numerous of movies taken places in thousands of stunning places. To be honest I'm a spontaneous person and I LOVE the idea of traveling. Even though I'm too young to actually have and make money of my own therefore I couldn't afford to travel to the places I'm dying to go. However, my numero uno wish is to travel all around the world.

In the end of the day, the main purpose of myself making money by doing a lot of jobs or what not is to afford myself tons of flight tickets to the places I wanted to go.

Letters to Juliet, played by Amanda Seyfried, was taken place in Verona, Italy and wanting to go there is an understatement. I AM DYING TO GO THERE! Verona is just simply gorgeous and romantic and I have to go there. Who's with me?

Mamma Mia! also had one of the best settings in the world and this place also happened to be the home of mythology, Greece. I love every single thing about Greece starting from the food, the people, and the places. Visiting Greece shall be in my bucket list.
Actually I have MORE places to say but unfortunately I have to go to the next class :( I'm currently on my ICT class ahahahaha. Well then, see you soon!

Greetings from Asgard.

Grüße aus der Tiefe meines Herzens! Meaning, greetings from the bottom of my heart!

No, I am not a German. I am in fact an Asgardian.

No, just kidding. Let's keep my nationality a secret.
Anyway, enjoy and hopefully I'm not wasting your time here!
